  • April 22, Square Dance Party: Over 50 people attended the International Student Square Dance and Line Dance Party. Everyone enjoyed the games, dancing and food.  The professional line dance instructor was very warmly received. photos

  • April 15, 2:30pm Easter Egg Hunt & Picnic:  Over 45 students and Americans enjoyed and Easter Party at Mary Beth and Wray's home in Huntington Beach.  The students enjoyed decorating Easter Eggs, volleyball, an Easter Egg hunt, other games and food. The students are from the countries of Japan, Korean, Vietnam, China, Sweden, and Mongolia. photos

  • Valentine Party Feb 11, 2006: for International students enjoying an evening of food, fun and games. Over 170 people came to the party. Students came from CUSF and HIU campuses. Students represented the following countries: Korea, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, Turkey, France, Uganda, Taiwan and Nepal. A special thanks to the  First Evangelical Free church of Fullerton who sponsored the wonderful event.  photos

  • 35 people International Student Winter Camp Getaway: Jan 6th 5PM to Monday Jan 9th or Jan 8th Sunday :  cost 68 dollars, Location Tahquitz Pines Conference Center in Idyllwild, CA near Palm Springs. Activities include great food, student skits, hiking, bible study discussion groups, talent show, live music, movie, coffee house and volleyball weather permitting.   • Glory of Christmas Pageant Nov. 27, 2005 Over 1000 students and friendship partners attended the Glory of Christmas play at the Crystal Cathedral Sunday night. The Christmas pageant contained spectacular choreography, sound effects, a cast of over 300, together with live animals, and angels flying overhead, portray this historical event just as it happened 2000 years ago. photos

  • Beach Party: Sept 10 Over to 300 people came to the International Student Beach Party at Huntington Beach. This activity was sponsored by the American Friendship program of ISI.  Student came from many difference campuses in Orange and Riverside County. Everyone enjoyed the food, volleyball, swimming, and live music.   Students represented the following countries: Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan,  Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Canada, Nepal, Cambodia and others.   • Beach Party - Chinese Students and CBCOC: Sat July 30th 4PM-9PM at Corona Del Mar Beach. Over 70 people attended a wonder beach party at Corona Del Mar Beach near the city of Newport Beach. Chinese students enjoyed playing volleyball, flying a Chinese kite, singing songs together, wonderful food and a camp-fire.  The beach was unusually crowed . flyer photos

  • Feb 20, Monday- Ski Trip - Ski trip and sledding trip to Big Bear Mountain. We will going to "Snow Valley Ski Resort" and to the sledding area near the ski slope. Monday is a national holiday "Presidents Day" . Schools are closed and I will be on vacation. Full day 33 dollars at COSCO. Ski rental 16 to 23 dollars. Sledding 15 dollars or 10 dollars.   • Saturday, Dec 11 5PM , Christmas Boar Parade, Huntington Beach Harbor: A Chinese host family provided wonderful Chinese food in their home down by the boat harbor in the city of Huntington Beach. 65 people enjoyed watching the Christmas boat parade. It was difficult to get night photos of the beautifully decorated boats. Photos

  • Sunday,  November 28th at 5:30 p.m.: The Glory  of Christmas Pageant.   • May 30, 2004Chinese Student Beach Party: Over 60 people joined in Chinese Student Beach Party. ISI and CBCOC sponsored an end-of- school year beach party at Corona Del Mar Beach in the City of Newport. We play volleyball, jump-rope, and swimming. After dinner we enjoyed a time of singing songs including some traditional Chinese songs. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoy the evening together. Photos

  • May 28, 2004Disneyland:  Nine international friends went to Disneyland with Jim Fuller (Tour guide). The day was very good because the weather was not hot and the lines were less than 30 minutes. A very enjoyable day. The HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH for children and even adults. Friends having fun together. Photos

  • April 23, 2004 Friday - International Funspiration Night! An evening of food, fun, and friendship!  at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton 6:30pm- 9Pm. Transportation will be at 6pm at HIU campus. 80 students and over 100 Americans attended. photos

  • Easter Party on Saturday, April 10 at 5PM. The party will be at an American home in Pacentia. Bob/Joyce Schreur and Bob/Carol William will be sponsoring the event for International students.   • March 13 at 7PM Special Speaker at CBCOC church: We would like to present to you an opportunity to hear from a former international student, Dr. Deborah Chung, from Hong Kong who has become very successful as the inventor of "Smart Concrete". Just in case you can't open the attachment, here is the information: Dr. Deborah Chung,  Endowed Chair Professor of University at Buffalo, State University of New York Former international student from Hong Kong.  One of the first four woman to graduate from Caltech, Inventor of smart concrete for structures. She is an inventor of 16 patents and published papers in many journals and books. She has given her concert-lectures to 4,000 university students.   • Saturday, Feb 7 International Student Party at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton at room NC190 from 7 p.m. to 9 or 9:30. American Extravaganza. Featuring a real winning combination of story, game and song with Howie and Marilyn Stevenson and Paul and Sue Sailhammer.  We’ll have pop corn on every table and meatballs, cheese and crackers, quiches, finger food and lots of apple pie.   • Saturday, Nov 22, 2003 Over 130 people came to the International student Thanksgiving Party at HIU campus. Everyone enjoyed the food, PowerPoint presentation about the tradition of Thanksgiving by Aaron Mulkey. Also three young ladies from the Philippines lead our singing and worship time.  At the end of the evening we had a profession line-dance instructor give the student lesson on American Line-Dancing and Country Dancing. Lots of fun and laughter. Students represented the following countries China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Kenya, Egypt, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and France. photos

  • Friday, Oct 31st  Over 100 people attended the HARVEST PARTY at 6:30 p.m. at the Hope University Student Center:  There will be Chinese food, pumpkin carving and lots of other things.  Come and enjoy a great evening! photos

  • Sept 13, Game night: Over 140 people came to the International student Game Night at the Gymnasium of First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. The theme of the event was called "Country Fair". Many of the American Friendship Partners brought their International student to the event.  The evening was full of games and prizes and free gifts.  Students came from CSUF, HIU and Biola campuses. A special thanks to Charlie Henry and all his volunteers for making it a wonderful evening. Student represented the following countries: Kenya, Nigeria, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Romania, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, India, Tunisia, Egypt, Taiwan, Holland, Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, Philippines, and France.   • Aug 14 - HIU Welcome Party: HIU International Student Welcome Party was well attended with over 45 people Everyone enjoyed the games, food and fun. The new International student at HIU appreciated the party. At the party there were students from many countries like Egypt, Taiwan, Korea, Kenya, Brazil and others. Photos

  • July 4 - Fourth of July is the National Independence Day for America. Several students came to Jim Fuller's home for food, games, and table-tennis. At 8 PM we went to Fullerton College/Fullerton HS to see the fireworks with several thousand other people. Photos

  • March 28, 2003 Over 40 students from CUSF and HIU campuses join the "Forever Young' fellowship class for an International Friendship Night at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton. Over 150 Americans enjoyed meeting the students. Everyone had fun with special Karaoke music, games and testimonies. Americans and students both share testimonies of what God is doing in their lives. The evening was full of fun and laughter. Also a special recognition and appreciation was given to Paula Parker for six years of organizing the American Friendship program.  Students represented the following countries:  Taiwan, China,  Korea, Vietnam, Egypt, Ukraine, Japan, and France.   • 15th Saturday- International Party & Farewell for Chinese students - 6p - 10p Over 60 people attended the "Farewell Party" for the 17 Chinese graduate students at HIU. The party was held at Betty Hartley's home and Wenwei provided the Chinese food. Everyone enjoyed the international party with delicious food, games, and farewell songs. Clinton, one of the Chinese scholars presented a PowerPoint to the American and other international students as a farewell gift. They also sang several farewell songs.   • Chinese New Year Party - Jan 25, 2003.  Over 50 people came to the International student Chinese New Year Party at Betty Hartley's home in Yorba Linda. Chinese New Year eve is officially Jan 31. Students enjoyed the evening with eating the many traditional Chinese new year foods including goiza. We also sang some traditional songs, and play some games. Students represented the following countries: Japan, China, Egypt, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam. Photos

  • Christmas Musical - Dec 14 6:30PM at Evangelical Free Church. 2801 Brea Blvd, Fullerton.  The 75 students and Friendship partners sat together for the church’s Christmas program called “One Amazing Night.”  After the program, students receive a small Christmas gift. photos

  • Game Night Oct. 26, 6:30PM - Over 60 students came to the International student Game Night at the Student Center at HIU campus. Many people helped in bring Chinese and American food. After dinner we had a pumpkin carving contest. This was new experience of most international students. Then we play a form of musical chairs which was full of laughter.  Then 10 Chinese scholars taught the group how to ball-room dance with Chinese music. The even was full of fun and laughter.   • Appreciation and Vision Dinner on September 30th  in the Arboretum of the Crystal Cathedral for American Friendship Partners.: The appreciation banquet is for all the American friendship partners in Orange County area is at the Crystal Cathedral at the Arboretum room at 6:30PM Flyer

  • Game Night: Sept 14, 2002 Over 230 people came to the International student Game Night at Gymnasium of First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. Many of the American Friendship Partners brought their International student to the event. After our barbecue, student played group games and performed small funny skits. During the evening student played volleyball, table-tennis and basketball. Student came from CSUF, HIU and Biola campuses. Student represented the following countries: Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan France,  Egypt, Taiwan, Panama Sweden, Germany, and France. Photos

  • SeaWorld: Six Chinese student from HIU campus went on a San Diego Tour and to Sea World.  SeaWorld is a theme about sea animals. It educates people about the animals of sea with fun activities and water shows about whales, dolphins, sea lions, and more. We all had fun sightseeing and seeing the shows at Sea World. Photos

  • Easter Egg Hunt and Dinner: March 30, 2002. Over 35 students attended the International Student Easter Egg Hunt and Dinner at Joyce and Bob's home in Anaheim Hills. Everyone enjoyed the coloring Easter eggs, hunting for Easter eggs, games and food.  Students came from CSUF and HIU campuses. Students represented the following countries: Kenya, South Africa, Singapore, China,  Vietnam, Egypt, Japan, Pakistan and Thailand. photos

  • International Friendship Night: March 22, 2002. Over 40 students join "For Ever Young' fellowship class for an International Friendship Night at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton. Over 200 Americans enjoyed meeting the students. Everyone had fun with special music from Howie Stevenson.  Bambi from the Philippines sang a solo in Tagalog language, Duc from Vietnam played his guitar,  and an Indonesian bamboo musical group share in music. Americans and students both share testimonies of what God is doing in their lives. The evening was full of fun and laughter.  Students represented the following countries: Kenya, South Africa, Taiwan, China,  Korea, Vietnam, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Japan, and Jamaica. photos

  • Concert of Prayer: Friday, Feb 1, 2002: 7PM to 6AM, Sixty people join us for all night prayer meeting which went only to 2AM. We had a wonderful worship time with music, prayer walk, focus on revival and pray around the world. Pizza and Chinese noodles were provided in Rm 215A at HIU campus.  Flyer  photos

  • Saturday, January 19, 2002. 28 people went to Redondo Beach. We left at 10AM from Omega Dorm at HIU campus and return 3PM. Redondo has one of the largest fish market in LA with shops, beach, boats and beautiful fishing pier. photos

  • The Glory of Christmas Pageant: November 25, 2001 Sunday afternoon at 5:30 PM, the Crystal Cathedral will be having a special presentation of "The Glory of Christmas" for International Students and their Friendship Partners.   • Thanksgiving Dinner: Saturday Nov. 17,2001  6:00 PM.  Over 150 people came  to the International Student Thanksgiving Dinner at Terrace bldg on HIU campus. HIU/ISA and ISI had a joint program with special music by  3 Chinese friends, Midori from Japan on the string instrument called Koto and Aaron Mulkey on the guitar for group songs. Jim Fuller game a PowerPoint presentation on Thanksgiving and Albert share his personal testimony. Students had fun laughing at the funny cartoon on the PowerPoint and enjoyed the evening.   • PICNIC:  Saturday October 27, 2001 11AM -3PM Picnic  Flyer Approx. 87 people came to International Student Picnic at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim.  We had plenty of food and games. Some of the games were waterballon toss, tug-a-war, volleyball, badminton, and soccer. Student came from the following campuses HIU and CSUF campuses.   • Saturday Sept 15, 2001 6PM Game Night with American Friendship Program at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton. There were about 300 people at the game night. The students enjoyed fellowship with other students and American families.  We had a  barbeque, group games, volleyball, basketball and ping-pong.   • Hollywood Tour- Sept 1: Fifteen people went from HIU on a tour to Hollywood and to Santa Monica Pier. The students who went are the trip are Abraham from South Africa, Sarah from Kenya, Philip from Uganda, Joseph, Hannah, Jane, Dorothy, Esther from Korea, Kohei from Japan and Zaya from Mongolia.   • Matt and Lori's Baby Shower - Party -  Aug 24  Over 30 people came to the Matt and Lori's - Baby Shower-.  After the games, music and devotions we open presents and ate some food and enjoy the fellowship. A special thanks for Gloria Baker for organizing the program.   • Saturday July 23, 2001: 4PM-9PM Beach Party:  Over 75 people came to the International Student Picnic held at Corona Del Mar Beach from 4 pm to 9pm. Everyone enjoyed the food and games. We played volleyball, swimming and super-soaker water gun fight. After the barbeque we formed a circle and sang songs. Students came from CSUF, HIU and Santa Ana College. HIU/GLC program had 27 Koreans joining ISI group on the beach.   • Sat April 7  A Day at  Knott's Berry Farm International Student Easter Event starting at 12 Noon at Radisson Hotel near the amusement park. Come enjoy Knotts Famous Fried Chicken Lunch followed by admission to: all the rides and shows at Knotts. You may stay until the park closes at 10PM. Cost $10 per student including lunch. Hear about the meaning of Easter Holiday from a Christian viewpoint at lunch. Over 180 students came to the Knott's Berry Farm Easter Event.   • Sat. March 24, 2000 Ski Trip at Big Bear Mountain Resort $30 half day Lift Tickets, click here for Map 86 miles, 2hr 15 minutes. Ski Equipment ranges from 12 to 10 dollars.   • The Glory of Christmas, Friday, November 24, 6.30 PM  You are invited to see the moving story of nativity (Christmas) portrayed in spectacular drama, song, choreography and sound effects at the fabulous Crystal Cathedral near Disneyland. With a cast of over 100, including Roman soldiers, live animals and live angels flying overhead, this program attracts visitors from around the world. The tickets regularly priced at $20 to 30 but cost only $4.00 for international students. We have a limited number of tickets only. So please hurry. There will be a reception for international students at 6.30 p.m.at the Arboretum, right across the Cathedral.

A barbequed food was provided for all. The students played Olympic group games which included a balloon race, marshmallow tossing game, and a run around the baseball bat game.  Also students played ping-pong, volleyball and basketball and watched the Olympic on a large screen TV.  Colleges represented were CSUF and Hope International University. Meet in front of Alpha Dorm at Hope International University. We will then car pool 3 mile to Dr.Elliston's home. About 50 people came to the International student party.   • Sat. April 28, 2000 5:00 PM Barbecue and Program at the Gary and Carol Benson’s home,448 E Marion Pl, Placentia. About 32 people came we gave out prizes to those who won the badminton and ping-pong contest. Everyone enjoyed the games, food and singing.   • International Student Camping Trip:  Saturday & Sunday Nov.27& 28, 1999.  Spend the Thanksgiving holiday weekend camping near Lake Cachuma near Santa Barbara.  Leave early Saturday morning. Visit the Danish village Solvang, spend the night at Sage Hill Campground and Sunday in Santa Barbara. Costs 15 dollars includes transportation, campsite, and breakfast (all other meals on your own). Bring your backpack, sleeping bag, pillow, warm clothes and etc. Departure time: 6:30 am at the Samuel's home on Saturday. About 40 people came for serveral campuses including USC.

Students from all campus in the Orange county area are welcome including host families.  The program will include singing, skits, refreshments, and a guest speaker, Dr. Hayward.   • Yosemite Park Camping Trip:  Leave Friday Sept 3 at 6 AM at the Samuel's home. Leave Monday at 2  PM Sept 6th (Labor Day) to return. 19 people went on the beautiful scenic trip..   • Christmas Party : Sat. Dec 19th 1998 6 PM, progressive dinner. Over 65 people came including host families and international students from CSUF and Fullerton College.  The Christmas Party was a progressive dinner type. We went to three homes: 1) Carol & Bob Williams 2) Gary & Carol Benson 3) Yuko & Bob Olson. The International student are original from China, Japan, Singapore,  Taiwan and other countries.

  • Thanksgiving Dinner : Sat. Nov. 21st, 1998 6 PM, Xu Ben & Li Ping Home, 530 Vanderbilt Drive, Placentia, 75 people came to the Thanksgiving Dinner. Three turkeys were prepared for the the students from Fullerton College and Cal.State Fullerton. Students sang Thanksgiving songs and learned about the first Thanksgiving in America. Students originally from China, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, and other countries.

  • Game Night : Sat.Oct 31st, 1998 7 PM , . 45 Students came from Fullerton College and Cal. State Fullerton including some host families came to the Game night.   • Barbecue and Game Night: Sat Sept 26,1998  6 PM at EV Free Church, All international students and host family are invited to the the barbecue and game night. There will be volleyball, basketball and other games. Over 150 people came including 40 host families. Students came from Fullerton College and Cal. State Fullerton. The International student original came from China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, England, Taiwan and other countries.

  • Hollywood Bowl Concert: Aug 16th, 1998 . $5 for tickets. Leave 5 PM from Cal State Fullerton. Food will be provided. 31 people came and had a great time.Photos

  • Yosemite Trip: July 24 to July 26th, 1998 . $25 for transportation and park entrance fee. Food was bought along the way. Host families in Fresno will provide housing. 23 students with American host drove to Fresno on Friday. On Saturday the International students for Fullerton Area and the students from Fresno State went sightseeing at the National Park, a total of 51 people. International student from Japan, China, Mexico, Taiwan and Thailand. Everyone enjoyed their host family and the sites of the wonderful Yosemite National Park. The waterfalls were beautiful see.   • Beach Party Sat. June 27, 1998: Leave from Cal State Fullerton at 4 PM. Corona Del Mar Beach in Newport area. 50 people came from different campuses. Student from China, India, Pakistan, Korea, and Japan. Students played volley ball, soccer and some even went swimming. Everyone had plenty to eat at the Barbecue on the beach.

  • Conference - "China 97...At the Crossroads": June 20-27, 1997 in San Diego, CA. A week long conference for Chinese Students and scholars, most of the conference will be in Mandarin language.   • International Student Christmas Party: Friday at 7 PM, Dec 6, 1996, at the Calvary Church in Santa Ana, Featuring International Comedian "Nazareth" presenting a special Christmas message. Over 70 people came, students from Taiwan, China, Japan, India, and many other countries.

  • Thanksgiving Meal for International Students:Sat. at 6 PM, Nov. 16th, at the Yorba Linda Free Church, 5320 Richfield Road,Yorba Linda. Over 120 people came including the American families. Students from China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
  • International Potluck Dinner: Nov 2, 1996 at 6:00 PM, at the Samuel's home about 50 people came from many countries, from China, Taiwan, Italy, Japan, India, and many other countries

  • July 4th Camping Trip for International Student :Thur. July 4th to Sun. July 7th, Mammoth Lake, California; Accommodations were in a Condo for 24 people.
  • International Student Picnic:Memorial Day May 27, 1996, at Irvine Regional Park,start 10:00 AM all day picnic, volleyball, and badminton. Plenty of food for all.(Over 65 people came: Students from India, Indonesia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Philippines)

  • International Christian Training Conference: Jan 3 through 7, at Pine Valley Camp near San Diego, cost $95.
  • New Years Eve Party: Dec.31, 1995, at 8:00 PM, at Buchers's Home, Santa Ana, CA. Games late into the night, and finger food. Over 30 people came.
